Synopsis

When four misfits from small‑town Idaho Garrett the down‑on‑his‑luck garbage‑man, siblings Henry and Natalie burdened by grief, and Dawn, a struggling real‑estate agent stumble upon a mysterious portal, they’re transported from their mundane lives into the mythical, cube‑based realm of Minecraft. In the Overworld, a land made of blocks and ruled by imagination, they must adapt fast.

Guided by Steve, an expert crafter with uncanny skill (played by Jack Black), the group must navigate forests made of voxels, hide from creeping Zombies and Piglins, and survive the “Chicken Jockey” moment that spread across theaters all while carrying the hopes of returning home.

As the misfits bond and grow, the journey evolves from mere survival to a quest of self‑discovery: the creativity, teamwork, and courage they unlock in the pixelated world challenge them to reconnect with life and purpose in the real world. The film blends humor, fantasy and adventure capturing both the blocky spirit of Minecraft and the human heart behind the screens.
